Chin Na/Jujitsu seminar with Dr. Alex Feng

Chin na or Qinna (擒拿) is a set of joint lock techniques used in martial arts to control or lock an opponent’s joints or muscles/tendons so he cannot move, thus neutralizing the opponent’s fighting ability. Chin Na features both standing and ground-based grappling techniques, and almost all martial arts incorporate these types of methods. Learning Chin Na can deepen your understanding of judo and enhance your skills in any martial discipline.

A student of martial arts since the age of 12, Dr. Alex Feng holds a second-degree black belt in Jujitsu, a fourth-degree in Judo, and is a Grandmaster of Yang style and Chen style Tai Ji. Shi Fu Feng started teaching internal and external systems of Gong Fu, Kodokan Judo and Kodenkan Jujitsu in 1966. In 1967, he was the AJJF national heavyweight champion in Judo.

Master Feng developed the Wu Chien Pai system and opened the Wu Tao Kuan Martial Arts Institute in 1973 in Berkeley. Wu Tao Kuan is now housed at Zhi Dao Guan, the Taoist Center, where Shi Fu Feng continues to blend the uniqueness of Chinese and Japanese styles of martial arts and healing arts into the Wu Chien Pai system. Master Feng continues to teach Tai Ji (Yang and Chen), Tai Ji weapons, Qi Gong, Push Hands and Judo/Jujitsu. He has been inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame and has produced numerous state and national champions in the external and internal styles of martial arts.
